CHISHOLM, MN — Officials with Education Minnesota say they have reached an agreement with the Chisholm School District, and the teacher contracts for 2017-2019 and 2019-2021 have been ratified.
According to Education Minnesota, the 2017-2019 contract includes a one percent salary increase for both the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years.
The 2019-2021 contract restructures the pay scale to increase starting salaries in order to attract new teachers, and improves salaries for more veteran Chisholm teachers to keep them in the district.
“The top priority of the union from Day 1 was to reach a fair and competitive contract agreement to allow Chisholm to continue to attract and keep top-quality educators for the students in our communities,” said Tim Provinzino, president of Education-Minnesota Chisholm. “We were able to do just that during mediation.”
