DULUTH, MN — The verdict is in, and Mesabi Metallics’ former CEO is still out.

Tom Clarke was removed from the CEO position last July, and Mesabi Metallics spokespeople say he hasn’t had a role in the project since then.

A court ruling Saturday upheld Nubai Global Investment’s decision to remove Clarke as CEO of Mesabi Metallics and Chippewa Capital Partners.

Nubai, which owns Chippewa Capital Partners, sought legal recourse in August 2018 after Clarke made claims that he still controlled the project, which aims to develop an iron ore mining and pellet manufacturing project at the former Essar steel site in Nashwauk.
