Proposal seeks to honor Twin Ports Icon Lew Martin

SUPERIOR, WI — A Twin Ports icon who died earlier this year could soon receive a big honor.

Superior City Councilor Jenny Van-Sickle has proposed renaming the Superior-Douglas County Senior Center after Lew Martin who was involved there for years.

Van-Sickle says it would be a way to “lift up an inspiring human being.”

In addition to being a broadcast icon, Martin spent about 30 years on the Douglas County Board.

He died this past February at the age of 102.
