SUPERIOR, WI – The University of Wisconsin Superior provost Dr. Molly Smith is out less than a year after taking the seat.
According to an email sent to students and staff Wednesday from Chancellor Renee Wachter, Dr. Smith will no longer be serving in the position, but will remain on campus to see through several outstanding projects.
Dr. Smith was named provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs last June. Smith replaced Jackie Weissenburger, who had served as interim provost since 2016.
Wachter said Weissenburger will be taking on the role, again, on an interim basis starting later this month.
UW-Superior plans to create a committee this fall to search for a permanent replacement.
