Pine County firefighters revive cat injured in house fire

A Pine County cat injured in a house fire is back on its feet after firefighters used special equipment to revive the unresponsive animal.

According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Department, the fire department was called to a structure fire on Forest Road in Pine City around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

During an interior sweep of the house, firefighters found the unresponsive cat. Members of the Pine City Fire Department then took it outside, and used equipment to get the animal breathing again.

“Not to start a cat vs. dog argument but apparently, the cat was less than appreciative of the efforts and was described as quite ‘crabby,'” the Sheriff’s Department wrote in a Facebook post.

The house has minor heat and smoke damage. No people were injured.
