Black Woods restaurant founder Bryan Flaherty dies

DULUTH, MN – The Duluth businessman behind Black Woods restaurants has died.

Bryan Flaherty founded New London Corp. which owns Black Woods in Duluth, Proctor and Two Harbors plus
Tavern on the Hill and Black Water.

Flaherty was raised and rooted in Duluth and had a strong connection to the community.

The 1968 Denfeld grad won a Labovitz award in 2017 in the mature entrepreneur category.

“We have lost an extraordinary, larger-than-life individual who made a profound difference in countless lives,” a post on the Black Woods Group Facebook page Thursday stated.
