‘I’m Tickled!’ Marcia Hales Christmas light display moves to Glensheen in 2019

DULUTH, MN– A popular Christmas light display that once graced the grounds of Marcia Hales’ Park Point property will be moving to Duluth’s Glensheen Mansion in 2019.

According to Hales, she had planned to retire the decades-old display after the 2018 season, but after receiving a call from Glensheen Director Dan Hartman, it was an offer she couldn’t refuse.

Hales told KBJR 6 Wednesday that they haven’t ironed out the details, but she hopes the display will take on a similar layout as it did on Park Point.

“I’m tickled,” Hales said, referencing her excitement about the fact that her display will be staying close to Lake Superior’s shores.

Hales said she had also received other offers for locations to display her famed lights.

No official dates have been set, according to Hales.

Calls to Glensheen were not immediately returned Wednesday night.
