SUPERIOR, WI– The University of Wisconsin-Superior received a pretty big scholarship Tuesday.

The Duluth Superior Transit Association (DSTA) presented a $13,000 check to UWS for an endowed scholarship. The scholarship is for students studying Transportation and Logistics.

The DSTA presented the check to UWS at Jeff Foster Trucking in Superior.

Those behind it say it’s time for more students to consider a future in the sector.

“All of our goods, basically, are transported via tractor trailer, by rail, by sea, air,” says Leyla Aktekin of Jeff Foster Trucking. “So, really we need more folks going into that program, and this is one way we can ensure that that happens.”
