U.S., Wisconsin flags ordered at half-staff to honor fallen Milwaukee officer

MILWAUKEE, WI — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has ordered flags to fly at half-staff until a fallen Milwaukee police officer is laid to rest.

Evers issued the order after Officer Matthew Rittner was killed while serving a warrant in Milwaukee on Wednesday morning.

A 26-year-old man is in custody for the shooting.

A vigil is planned for Rittner at 6:30 p.m.
