14th Annual Veterans Dinner held Thursday Night

DULUTH, MN– What better way to break the ice than with a tank.

Thursday Night, the 14th annual Veterans Dinner was held at the Depot.

The theme at this year’s dinner was Armor in the Army.

Brigadier General Ronald Hein was the keynote speaker.

Hein says tanks played a large role in many conflicts over the decades from World-War-One to the present.

“When we went into Desert Storm, that was and armored conflict pretty much on both sides. The reason that we were able to get on the ground and move toward Baghdad as quickly as we did and with as much success as we did was primarily due to armor,” said Hein.

Hein has served in all levels of command from Tank Platoon, to an infantry brigade.
