DULUTH– For those who have lost a child the holiday season can be a particularly difficult time.

But an event in Duluth Thursday is hoping to bring comfort to those who need it.

Organizers are hosting a candlelight vigil Thursday evening at the Angel of Hope statue, in Leif Erikson Park.

The statue is a memorial for grieving parents, and loved ones, who have lost a child of any age.

Organizers say the event is a good way to grieve and heal.

Thursday’s vigil will be at 7 p.m. at Leif Erikson Park. Another vigil will also be held at the same time at Angel of Hope Park, in Virginia.

The community is encouraged to donate to the Angel of Hope organization through a fund set up at Wells Fargo Bank.
