Fall legislative priorities listed for Wisconsin democrats

MADISON, WI — Wisconsin democratic leaders have laid out their fall legislative priorities.

Party leaders met in Madison Monday, and have decided to continue pushing for Medicaid expansion, raising the minimum wage and legalizing medical marijuana, with most of the ideas opposed by republicans.

“Democratic priorities reflect the will of the people of Wisconsin who voted for bold solutions and expect their representatives to get the job done,” says Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton).

Democrats also called on Republican leaders to take up gun reform legislation such as universal background checks and red flag laws, which are also opposed by GOP leaders.
