ST. PAUL, MN — New school buses in Minnesota could soon be required to have seat belts.

State Senator Erik Simonson has introduced that bill at the Minnesota State Capitol.

The legislation calls for lap and shoulder belts for each passenger, and all passengers would be required to use those belts.

If approved, the law would go into effect in 2020.
