Duluth DFL Representative elected House Majority Whip

ST. PAUL, MN — Liz Olson (DFL – Duluth), has been elected as Majority Whip for the 2019 – 2020 legislative session by members of the Minnesota House DFL Caucus.

Rep. Olson will help the leadership team advocate for policies on the House Floor, in the media, and across the state.

As the Whip, Olson will work closely with Rep. Melissa Hortman (DFL – Brooklyn Park), who is the Speaker-designate, and Rep.-elect Ryan Winkler (DFL – Golden Valley), Majority Leader.

75 DFLers were elected to the State Capitol, with 34 of them being newly elected.

Republicans make up 59 members of the House.

Next year’s legislative session begins at noon on January eighth.
