Dan Wolfe

Dan Wolfe started at KBJR 6 in June, 2016, but he is no stranger to Minnesota. He spent the previous 5 years as morning anchor/producer at KTTC in Rochester after graduating from University of Nebraska-Omaha and starting his career as a reporter/producer at KETV in Omaha.

Since the beginning, Dan has had a passion for covering spot/breaking news. He reported extensively on the massive 2011 Missouri River flood that devastated the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Dan was also one of the first reporters on the scene in Mapleton, Iowa, after the town was hit by a large tornado. More recently, he’s covered a President Obama visit to southern Minnesota and the surprise snowstorm that hit the Rochester area in May of 2013. Dan was part of a morning crew that won three Emmy Awards in three years in Rochester.

After several years living “up north” on a Cotton-area lake, he’s happy to now live in Duluth. “I love the outdoors, including fishing, hiking, canoeing and paddle boarding, but I’m also happy to now have two hours of driving to and from the city any longer,” said Dan.

The shorter commute is especially welcome, now that Dan has a daughter. Lyla just celebrated her 2nd birthday, and is learning to love the outdoors, going on hiking (stroller) trips with her dad. And when Lyla isn’t keeping Dan busy, his Australian Shepherd named Louie is.
