Toddler injured in Iron Range crash

GILBERT, MN — A toddler is one of two people recovering from injuries following a crash on the Iron Range.

According to the State Patrol, a 57-year-old woman was driving with her three-year-old passenger when she tried turning at a curve along Barker Road around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say she then went into the ditch and hit several trees.

Both were airlifted from the crash area, which was near Gilbert, to a Duluth hospital.

At this time, the extent of their injuries are unknown, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
