CHISHOLM, MN — A far shorter negotiation process this time around in Chisholm, where teachers have another new contract.
According to the Hibbing Tribune, the Chisholm School Board approved the 2019-2021 contract between the district and the teachers union on Monday.
The last round of negotiations garnered statewide attention, as it took the parties two years to settle on the 2017-2019 contract.
The new contract includes changes to salary, language and benefits, along with more e-learning.
E-learning would require students to study from home when school is cancelled for bad weather. According to the contract, the district could call for e-learning days up to five times per school year.
