Former Hoyt Lakes police, fire chief laid to rest Friday

HOYT LAKES, MN — Iron Range communities bid farewell to a long-time public servant on Friday.

Former Hoyt Lakes Fire and Police Chief Steve Stoks died earlier this week in Biwabik.

Emergency vehicles led a procession from the Hoyt Lakes Public Safety Building to the Assembly of God Church in Aurora, where Stokes was laid to rest.

Stokes had served the community for more than 30 years.
