Spectators able to track Grandma’s runners through app

DULUTH, MN — There’s an app for everything, including tracking runners competing in Grandma’s Marathon.

The Grandma’s Marathon app, which is available on IOS and Android devices, allows anyone who has a friend or family member participating in this weekend’s race to track them through the course.

To do so, simply search for the app in the Apple or Google Play store, and on race day, enter the name(s) or bib number(s) of the runners.

You can find when the runners cross various checkpoints along the course, including the finish line.

Due to limited coverage on remote parts of the course, officials say there may be a significant delay, or no tracking data at all.

The app only allows spectators to watch runners in the half and full marathons.
