DULUTH, MN– Charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting another man in Duluth’s East Hillside neighborhood Sunday.
According to court documents, Christopher Davis, 20, has been charged with assault in the second degree and felony possession of a firearm.
Police responded to the area of East 4th Street and 6th Avenue East on the report of a gunshot around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
When authorities arrived, they found the victim who had injuries to his ear and head.
The victim said at the time of the shooting, he had been inside an apartment speaking with Davis and a woman whose car was reported stolen earlier in the day.
According to court documents, the woman was questioning the victim about the stolen vehicle, something he said he had nothing to do with.
Davis apparently became angry and fired a handgun. He also allegedly threatened the victim, saying he would kill him if he told anyone about what happened.
Witnesses say they saw Davis allegedly fire the weapon, and observed a bullet hole in the wall.
Davis is banned from possessing a firearm in Minnesota.
He’s due back in court on June 25.
