DULUTH, MN–The man accused of killing and robbing a Park Point man pleaded not guilty in St. Louis County Court Monday.

Darrel Mayhew, 30, is accused of assaulting Larry Watczak, 70, in his home during a robbery in early January. Watczak later died at a Duluth hospital.

Mayhew was originally charged with assault, but the St. Louis County attorney ammended those charges to include both intentional and unintentional second degree murder after Watczak’s death.

Mayhew’s trial is scheduled for April.
