ASHLAND, WI — A 20-year-old man from the Odanah/Saxon area is in custody after police were called to the Arby’s restaurant parking lot in Ashland, Wisconsin on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the restaurant shortly before 9 p.m. on a report of a man in the restaurant’s drive-through who had allegedly pointed a gun at another car.

When officers arrived, they performed a high-risk stop, and found three people inside the vehicle.

Police say the first male passenger stepped out of the vehicle, and began taking off his clothes and pulling his pants down claiming he was unarmed.

Officials say officers then directed him back to their location, but he instead laid face down on the pavement near the vehicle.

A second male passenger was then taken out of the car, who told officers the first male was armed.

The first male then stood up, and also pulled his pants up, before running around the building while officers chased him.

He was found near the drive-through window lying face down on the pavement. Police say he resisted the officers while being placed under arrest.

Police say the man spit on the officers several times, telling them to “Get AIDS”, before being handcuffed and taken to jail, where officials say he threatened the officers, saying he knew where they lived.

According to police, he damaged the police vehicle by kicking the door and windows.

Officers and jail staff found the drugs hidden in the man’s socks, and police say a Glock 9mm gun was found about 10 feet from where the man was arrested.

Additional drugs were also found in a duffle bag belonging to the man arrested, as well as several unused 9mm rounds, and two spent rounds.

Police say formal charges are pending at this time, including possession of methamphetamine, and possession of THC and fentanyl, with intent to deliver.
