Duluth Playhouse to start season with Broadway’s longest-running musical revue

DULUTH, MN — The Duluth Playhouse is preparing to showcase Broadway’s longest-running musical revue with their production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe at the NorShor Theatre.

Featured singer Shad Olsen and the Artistic & Executive Director of the Duluth Playhouse Christine Gradl Seitz stopped by the KBJR 6 studio to help preview the show.

Nominated for seven Tony Awards, the show features hits made famous by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Coasters and the Drifters.

Audience members can enjoy classic tunes, like “On Broadway,” “Yakety Yak,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Love Potion #9,” and “Stand By Me.”

Smokey Joe’s Cafe runs Thursdays through Saturdays, Sept. 19-28 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the NorShor Theatre box office or online.
