Dangerous swimming conditions prompts warning at Park Point

DULUTH, MN — The Duluth Fire Department is issuing a warning for dangerous swimming conditions for Park Point beaches until 10:00 a.m. Monday.

Officials are asking the public to stay out of the water regardless of swimming experience due to the high risk of rip currents forming.

Rip currents may extend as far as 100 yards offshore and are life-threatening to everyone.

There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point.

Red flags flying along the beach indicate dangerous near-shore conditions.

More information on conditions and rip currents can be found here.
