ST. PAUL, MN (AP) – The 2019 Minnesota Legislature convenes at noon Tuesday.
There is now a new governor, a new balance of power and a projected $1.5 billion budget surplus that might make deals easier to reach than in 2018.
Governor Tim Walz was sworn in Monday.
Democrats will take control of the House, while Senate Republicans will have a two-seat majority, making Minnesota the only state in the entire country with a divided Legislature.
KBJR 6 will have live coverage at the state capitol, so be sure to join us at 5 and 6 p.m.
