Duluth elementary students brush up on their pearly whites

Students at Piedmont Elementary welcomed a visit from the tooth fairy and the Children’s Dental Services for a brushathon.

Kids learned the importance of brushing their teeth and need for good overall dental health.

The recommended time to brush is two minutes and organizers wanted to make sure each student had the tools to do so.

“Children whose families fill out a consent form can receive sealants, cleaning, fluoride, exams, extractions and crowns if necessary, we do a full range of care right here in the schools,” Sarah Wovcha, Children’s Dental Services Executive Director says.

Children’s Dental Services is a statewide organization that provides dental care in all kinds of community settings.
