United Steelworkers approve new contracts with ArcelorMittal

VIRGINIA, MN — United Steelworkers say they have overwhelmingly ratified new contract agreements with ArcelorMittal.

USW spokespeople say the new, four-year agreements will increase wages, and improve benefits, among other things.

It’s the latest development in a series of tense contract negotiations this year that impacted thousands of United Steelworkers on the Iron Range.

ArcelorMittal owns the Minorca Mine, in Virginia.
