Pittsburgh, PA — United Steelworkers announced Thursday that it has ratified its contract with Cleveland-Cliffs.
This comes just over a week after Cleveland-Cliffs and USW reached a tentative agreement on a new, four-year contract.
According to a press release sent out by USW, the new contract includes significant wage increases and maintains benefits.
The contract covers about 1,800 union workers at Cliffs’ Tilden and Empire mines in Michigan and its United Taconite and Hibbing Taconite mines in Minnesota.
Specific details on the contract are expected to be released Friday morning.
