Rally planned in support of Iron Range teachers

Hibbing, MN — Contract negotiations for both Chisholm and Hibbing teachers have come to a standstill.

Now teachers, unions, and community members are planning a rally.

According to Education Minnesota, which represents the local teachers unions, the rally is to show solidarity for educators at the two Iron Range schools.

It’s scheduled for next Wednesday, September 26th at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm.

There will be a social hour at six, with the rally beginning at 6:30.

Speakers will include candidate for Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz, 8th Congressional District candidate Joe Radinovich, local lawmakers and representatives of other labor unions.

This comes as both Chisholm and Hibbing school districts still have not reached an agreement with teachers on their 2017 to 2019 contracts.
