Wisconsin man dead, wife injured in rollover crash near Mellen

ASHLAND COUNTY, WI -- One man is dead following a rollover crash near Mellen, Wisconsin, on September 11.

According to information provided by the Ashland County Sheriff's Office Tuesday, authorities received a 911 call just before 2 p.m. Saturday on a report of a truck rollover on State Highway 13.

According to the report, Ricky Bartz, 57, and his wife, Tracy, 52, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, were traveling southbound on Highway 13.

That's when a northbound truck crossed into the oncoming lane.

In an effort to avoid the crash, Bartz rolled his vehicle, with it coming to a rest on its roof.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ashland County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.

There's no word on if the other driver is facing charges.
