Proctor superintendent stepping down after 12 years

PROCTOR, MN– The Proctor School District announced Monday night they will be looking to hire a new superintendent.

John Engelking announced his plan to step down after leading the district for 12 years.

Engelking will remain as the interim superintendent until the district hires a replacement.

Engelking said he will begin working at South St. Louis County Check and Connect after officially retiring from the district.

He said the decision came quickly because the new opportunity required quick action.

There is no word yet on a replacement.
