Driver ID’d in dump truck rollover near Cherry


CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MN — The driver of the dump truck has been identified as Randy Gustafson, 38, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MN — A dump truck driver has died after his vehicle rolled near Cherry Monday afternoon.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the dump truck was traveling northbound on Spirit Lake Road around 1:30 p.m. when it went off the road to the east and rolled over.

St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said the 38-year-old driver died at the scene.

The driver will be identified after the family has been notified.

KBJR 6 arrived shortly after and the truck was still on its side in the ditch.

Crews worked to get it back upright but anticipated it be a while before they could tow it out.
