DULUTH, MN -- A $750,000 grant will help the Duluth Airport Authority eventually add direct air service from Duluth to Denver.
Congressman Pete Stauber's office announced the grant in a press release Thursday afternoon.
Stauber is a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
"I know that the addition of this direct flight will help increase Duluth’s competitiveness nationwide and spur economic growth," Stauber wrote in a press release. "I am confident that this route will be highly utilized, and I remain committed to fighting for more federal funds that support prosperity in our region.”
KBJR 6 reached out to the Duluth Airport Authority to learn what other funding is needed to add the air service and if there's a timeline in place for adding the flight.
We did not immediately hear back.
