2 stabbed at Hayward bar, suspect arrested

HAYWARD, WI — A man is in jail after allegedly stabbing two people at a Hayward bar early Saturday.

Police responded to the Moccasin Bar on U.S. Highway 63 around 2:08 a.m.

Witnesses say a fight broke out when a man was told to leave the bar.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed someone.

Police say he ran outside and stabbed another person in the back.

Both victims were taken to the Hayward hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of them was later transferred to Duluth.

The suspect, who has not been named yet, was arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday at his home.

He’s expected to be charged with attempted murder and several other felonies.

Police did not say if the suspect knew the victims. They said they believe it was an isolated incident.
