EMBARRASS, MN-- The wildfire west of Embarrass, in the Four Corners area has now been 95% contained.

Fire crews were concerned with gusts of winds and occurring small pockets of heat on Monday but have mopped detected spots in the interior and at the perimeter of the fire.

However, until the fire is completely extinguished and is determined unlikely to spread, the fire will not be considered 100% contained.

Firefighters continue Tuesday to patrol and seek out any pockets of heat.

On Wednesday, command of the fire will be turned over to Tower DNR Forestry and the MNICS Team C will be demobilized and return to their home units.

EMBARRASS, MN -- While Sunday's rain helped firefighters put a big dent in a wildfire burning west of Embarrass, Monday's winds are a concern for more flames.

As of Monday morning, a few small pockets of heat still linger in the area.

Fire crews are using coordinates from the infrared flight to directly suppress all fire they find.

However, with the wind being a concern crews will cut any high-risk snags or disengage if wind gusts are too high.

Currently, no road closures are in place.

UPDATE: The fire is now 60 acres in size.

According to the Minnesota Incident Command System, the perimeter of the fire is 10% contained.

Highway 135 remains closed.

Crews are now battling flames from the air and ground.

EMBARRASS, MN -- Due to high winds and dry conditions wildfire danger is causing havoc across the region.

Firefighting airplanes and two helicopters are working the fire on the Range that has closed a portion of the state highway.

The large wildland fire is just south of the Four Corners area in Embarrass.

According to Northland Firewire, the fire is nearly 40 acres or so in size.

Some residences in the area are threatened and have been evacuated.

People are being urged to avoid the area.

EMBARRASS, MN -- A wildfire on the Range has closed a portion of state highway.

A witness told us the fire appeared to be several acres in size Friday afternoon near Highway 135 and Rahkola Road near Embarrass.

According to MnDOT, the highway is closed to traffic just north of there as crews battle the flames.

Strong winds, warm temperatures and dry conditions led the National Weather Service to warn of high fire danger today across the area.
