Jordan, Minn. -- For the first time in program history, the Cloquet boys golf team captured the class AA state title as a team.

Senior Sam Baker captured the individual state championship with a bogey-free 7-under par round on the second day of the tournament. He finished with a 141 overall.

"You know, I don't really have a whole lot of words for it. I, it feels great. I'm going to enjoy the moment, that's for sure," said Baker following the win. "It's unbelievable, I'm so proud of the boys, and just how far all of them have come, I mean we had our six man step up and he placed what, 5th? Like that's awesome."

"We talked about, it takes 6 guys, and it really did," said Aaron Young, Cloqet Head Coach. "Sections, it was a different four guys scoring, and we got down here to the state tournament, guys that I was expecting to kind of struggle down here, ended up coming up huge for us. Karson Young and Jacob Walsh. They got big rounds both days, and it really was a team effort."
