Power back on after hours-long outage in Duluth

UPDATE: Power has been restored for most of the customers who were in the dark.

The outage lasted more than two hours for many.

Still no official word on a cause.


DULUTH, MN -- According to Minnesota Power, more than 1,900 of its customers were in the dark at 8 p.m. Monday.

Most of the outages appear to be impacting Duluth's Lincoln Park, Denfeld and Piedmont Heights neighborhoods.

In a tweet, the company said what while it's unclear what caused the outages, there were reports of a power pole fire.

According to Minnesota Power's website, the estimated restoration time for most of the city's outages is 11:46 p.m.
