AITKIN, MN-- Emergency rescue crews located and recovered a man's body from Big Sandy Lake in Aitkin Co., Minnesota.

According to a press release, the man was identified as 34-year-old Nathen Norman Waldo of North Branch, MN.

Aitkin County deputies responded to a call of a man overboard at 11:40 P.M. on Friday, June 11th.

They then entered the lake and made contact with a group of men on a pontoon boat.

The men told deputies Waldo fell off the front of the boat while it was moving forward. Witnesses said Waldo was swept under the boat and believed he was hit by the motor.

Authorities say they made extensive attempts to search the water in the area where he fell as well as the shoreline Friday night.

On Saturday, St. Louis County Search and Rescue joined in the search for Waldo. His body was then located and recovered in about 30-feet of water Saturday afternoon.

34-year-old, Joshua Mark Harvey of Maplewood, MN was arrested on charges of Boating While Intoxicated.

The Aitkin County Attorney's Office is reviewing the case to determine whether there is probable cause to charge Harvey with Criminal Vehicular Operation.

Harvey remains in the Aitkin County Jail pending his first court appearance.
