HINCKLEY, MN -- One person is dead and two others are facing life threatening injuries after a head on crash near Hinckley Friday afternoon.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Kia Sportage was driving northbound on I-35, while the Mitsubishi Endeavor was headed southbound on I-35.
According to authorities, the Endeavor drifted into the median and crossed it, hitting the northbound Kia head-on.
The driver of the Kia has not been named, but authorities did report it was a 45-year-old man.
The driver of the Mitsubishi has been identified as Tabitha Sue Sigler, 21, of Cambridge, MN. She suffered life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. According to authorites she was not wearing a seatbelt.
The passenger of the Mitsubishi has been identified as Santino Hilario Chavez, 36, of Saint Paul, MN. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Authorities said at this time they don't know if alcohol was a factor.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported Interstate 35 was closed to northbound traffic near Hinckley earlier Friday afternoon following the crash.
