SUPERIOR, WI-- Start your engines because Gondik Law Speedway celebrated their 60th annual opening night on Friday.
Godik, fortunately, raced through the pandemic and is happy to get going again. This year they opened earlier than usual and are anxiously awaiting the Canadians to come down as they add to the show.
The speedway says this is a special event for the community as it benefits businesses in and around town.
Their director, Crash Carlson, says he has been racing since he was 12. Carlson is now 83, still going and surely celebrating today.
Carlson says, "This event is the season opener, and it may get a touch dusty, but that happens in about every first race of the year, and then we get it under control. We are just proud to be here."
You can catch the next race next Friday night on May 21st. For more information, you can race on over to http://gondiklawspeedway.com/.
