EMBARRASS, MN -- A wildfire on the Range was under control Thursday night, after flames burned through several acres, coming very close to several buildings.
According to the Pike-Sandy-Britt Fire Chief, it started Thursday evening off Waisanen Road in Embarrass.
The DNR, Forest Service and several local departments battled flames from the ground and the air.
We are told the fire started when a homeowner dumped coals he thought had cooled off.
Flames burned five acres of forest, but crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to sheds and a garage on a nearby property.
No one was hurt.
