PINE CITY, MN-- After all the restrictions and physical distancing the past year, the 16th annual Pride celebration in Pine City will commence.
Participating counties such as; Pine, Isanti, Chisago, Kanabec and Mille Lacs’ LGBTQ+ communities will be able to gather while following current safety protocols.
The event will be held Saturday, September 18, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Robinson Park in Pine City.
Though Pride Month is in June, event leaders say pushing this event to September allows for it to be the best version of what is possible at this particular time.
“The safety and well-being of our community is the number one consideration,” explained Pride organizer Julie Redpath of Chisago City.
“Minnesota’s Small-Town LGBTQ+ Pride!”, has been held since 2005, missing only 2020 due to the pandemic.
This will be the first year the event is held on a Saturday.
Updates will be posted here.
