Duluth officer charged with misdemeanor

DULUTH, MN-- A Duluth Police officer is facing a misdemeanor charge after she caused an accident involving a patrol car.

The incident happened back on March 25.

According to court documents, Kim Wick, 51, was driving more than 70 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour area when the accident occurred.

When Wick approached the intersection near Kenwood Avenue, she swerved around stopped traffic into the oncoming lane, and hit a car turning left in the intersection.

According to reports, Wick had minor injuries, we are unaware of the condition of the other vehicles' occupants.

Her lights and sirens were on.

Officer Wick has been charged with misdemeanor reckless driving.

She faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
