CALGARY, AB -- Duluth's own Team Shuster has qualified Team USA as a participant in the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.

Team Shuster is currently competing at the World Curling Championships in Canada, and clinched another berth in the Olympics with a 9-4 win over the Netherlands.

The reigning 2018 Olympic gold medalists are currently in third place at the World Championships, and also qualified for the playoffs with their win on Thursday night.

"Obviously for us, we're trying to win a world championship, and making the playoffs and putting us in a position to do that, kind of doubled as qualifying our country for the Olympics, so obviously we carry that flag with a lot of pride, and yeah we're happy to be moving on to the playoffs," said skip John Shuster in a broadcast interview with the Olympic Channel.

Team Canada and Team Great Britain also qualified for the 2022 Olympic Games with wins on Thursday. For the official press release, click here.
