UMass downs UMD in overtime thriller, denying hopes of Bulldog three-peat

PITTSBURGH, Penn. -- The UMD men's hockey team fell 3-2 to UMass in the Frozen Four semifinals.

The Bulldogs fall short of their 4th straight national championship game, after Garrett Wait scored an overtime goal for the Minutemen. Wait played two seasons with the Gophers before transferring to UMass, and is a native of Edina, Minnesota.
