ST. CLOUD, MN. -- The Mountain Iron-Buhl girls basketball team is advancing in the MSHSL Class A State Tournament after a dramatic, 50-49 win in the quarterfinals.

The Rangers trailed for the entirety of the game, before taking the lead on a pair of Lauren Maki free throws.

In Class AA, Duluth Marshall fell to Providence Academy 94-91 despite a state tournament record 67 points from senior Gianna Kneepkens.

She had 41 points in the second half alone, nearly willing the Hilltoppers into the state semifinals completely on her own. Kneepkens finishes an illustrious high school career as their fourth highest scorer in Minnesota girls basketball history. She will take her talents to the University of Utah (D1) next season.

In Class AAA, Grand Rapids fell 93-69 to the Academy of Holy Angels. For the full MSHSL state girls basketball brackets, click here.
