CLOQUET, MN -- A Cloquet man has changed his plea after shooting his friend to death after a night of drinking.
It happened at a home in Brevator Township in November 2019.
According to court documents, Thomas Micklewright originally pleaded not guilty to first-degree manslaughter back in August but changed that plea to guilty Tuesday.
Micklewright, 45, admitted to intentionally shooting James Couture after the two had spent the night drinking together, according to court documents.
Court documents did not specify why Micklewright allegedly shot Couture.
He's set to be sentenced in May.
