DULUTH, Minn. -- The UMD women's basketball team is reloading for the 2021-22 season.

After winning an NSIC title, and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, all three of their seniors are returning for another season.

The NCAA is granting winter athletes an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic, and UMD is taking full advantage. Head coach Mandy Pearson confirmed that Ann Simonet, Sarah Grow, and Payton Kahl will all be coming back for one more season.

"Just from a cultural standpoint, I'm really excited to have them back," said Pearson.

"From when I've been reflecting since the games were over, we still have some room to grow, and so we need to kind of reset some of our individual goals, reset some of our team goals, and just figure out how we can get better as a program, and knowing that those three are part of the leadership leading the way, is really exciting for our program."

The Bulldogs will also retain two-time NSIC North player of the year Brooke Olson, who will be entering her senior season at UMD.
