ST. CLOUD, MN. -- The UMD men's hockey team would overcome a 3-0 deficit, only to fall 4-3 in overtime Saturday afternoon against St. Cloud State.

Jackson Cates would score twice for the Bulldogs, while Connor Kelley would also light the lamp. Zach Stejskal would make 30 saves for UMD.

"I thought our guys played a real good second and third. Unfortunately when you are chasing a game, we got back in it, got it to the overtime but they made a good play at the end. I really liked our game. If we play like that for three periods we got a good chance to beat a lot of teams," said head coach Scott Sandelin.

The Bulldogs are back in action next Saturday against Western Michigan in the NCHC Tournament. Puck drop from Grand Forks, North Dakota is 7:37 p.m.
