DULUTH, MN-- Select UMD students let their voices be heard Friday when protesting to protect their future.
Students attending UMD came out to protest the Line 3 pipeline outside of the James S. Malosky Stadium.
As a part of the protests, they also urged the university to divest from fossil fuels.
One poster, Katelyn France said they wanted their voices to be heard and that today was all about protecting their future.
"We're doing this for all people. I'm a science student I can tell you that nothing is perfect especially when it comes to engineering feats like this. We need to take action to stop this pipeline now and protect the water for generations to come," said France.
After the protest, they marched to the administrative offices to further spread their message.
